The Coban 2 Layer Compression System provides a comfortable and effective compression system to reduce edema. This system is commonly used for lymphedema and wound care.
Each kit, comes with a black nylon stocking to be worn underneath the bandages to protect the skin. The first bandage layer is a soft, comfortable foam. The foam is slightly tacky (cohesive) to stay in place and prevent the outer wrap from slipping.
The second layer provides compression and bonds to the inner foam layer.
The 2 layers are still lightweight and breathable. You should be able to wear regular shoes. Wound dressings may be worn underneath if recommended by a wound care specialists.
This system is not waterproof so protection may be needed while bathing.
The Coban 2 Layer Compression System may be worn up to 7 days but during the early stages of treatment, edema reduction may happen quickly, requiring the compression system to be changed.
